Heyy! I’m Brooke, as I’m sure you’ve figured that out by now. ;)

I like to say I’m a crazy cat lady homeschool mama band geek photographer that you’ll always catch at hobby lobby—that pretty much sums me up. ;P

I married my husband, Daniel in August of 2015. I taught band for four years (4-12) in a small town in South Dakota. I received my Masters of Music Education from Northern State University, where I did my undergraduate degree as well. I accepted the position of Assistant Homeschool Band Director in 2024, so that has been an exciting journey too! It’s such a blessing to be able to stay home and homeschool my son, as well as teach band-what I really feel like God put me on this earth to do outside of being a mama.

In 2019, we had our son, Granger. He is the light of my life and such a gift from God. I decided to take a break from teaching and stay home with him, as well as do photography! It definitely has its challenges, but it is the most incredible job in the world, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! We began homeschooling in the fall of 2023, and God willing, we plan to homeschool all the way through our children’s school years—we love it!

Since fall of 2020, we experienced secondary infertility and finally found out in 2024 I have PCOS. It has been incredibly challenging, but God has shown His goodness through it, and we are forever thankful for His never ending love.

I’m so excited to say that we are now expecting our second child, a baby girl, in July of 2025! Granger is a big brother and God is and always has been so good. We are incredibly thankful for this blessing and gift of life, and we cannot wait to meet her!

I started bvzstudio (originally bvzphoto) back in 2016, and I had no idea where it would lead me! I was just excited for a new opportunity to accompany my life long dream of being a band teacher!

I was always told that I had an eye for photography, even as a middle schooler. I didn’t know what that meant then, but I definitely do now, ha!

But I also acknowledge that God gets all the glory from this, because He is the one who gave me this gift and continues to bring clients my way.

“Where morning dawns, where evening fades, You call forth songs of joy.” - Psalm 65:8

This verse is so special to me and my photography because sunsets are my absolute favorite time to shoot and I feel so close to God watching them and through songs and music, obviously!

I’m pretty sure the first photo I took professionally was my best friend Paige’s pregnancy announcement with her first baby, Ridgely! and now they have four kids…WHAT IS LIFE?!

It is so fun to look back and see how far my photography has come and all the fun adventures along the way. Every shoot is truly special to me, and when I look back on each one, I have such fond memories!

But truly, I love capturing moments that can never be recreated—and I am so incredibly HONORED by every single person who allows me to be their photographer, even once.

I am really excited about the future of bvzstudio and all of the future clients I’m going to meet!!

And a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported my photography, whether by being a model/client for me, sharing my page/photos, whatever it may be. I cannot thank you enough, from the bottom of my heart.
